Enable two fingers drag-and-drop with touchpad on elementaryOs

ElementaryOs is a great distribution. It provides you the completeness of a Debian Based distribution, full access to all Ubuntu based mods/customization and with the stability and security of an LTS based distro.

I'm using it for months now, and I've installed it on my personal laptop : Xiaomi Mi Air 12,5".

The only glitch I've found was that I couldn't use the simple drag and drop gesture with two fingers on the touchpad...
I'm using it always, to drag-and-drop files, copy paste text, etc.
I had to use the drag-and-drop with one finger enabled in Wayland but couldn't get used to it.

Enabling two-fingers drag-and-drop

The key is to enable the ClickPad functionality in the Synaptic driver:
in a terminal, type :

xinput list

Find your Synaptic touchpad in there (SYNA3105:00 here)

⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)] ⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ SYNA3105:00 06CB:7EA5 id=10 [slave pointer (2)] ⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)] ↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Power Button id=6 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Video Bus id=7 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Power Button id=8 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ XiaoMi USB 2.0 Webcam id=9 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Intel HID events id=11 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=12 [slave keyboard (3)]

Type
xinput list-props 10

and you will see that your ClickPad is disabled:
Synaptics ClickPad (280): 0

Update that with :
xinput set-prop 10 280 1 synclient ClickPad=1

And you should be done!
