Adium
Adium is for some years, the outright star of the clients multi-protocols on MAC BONE.
Where to download it?
http://adiumx.com / download.html
But for what this is of use on my Mac?
Adium is as says précédement, a client multi-protocols for instantaneous freight forwarding. More apparently, it is a software which allows you to communicate with your corrspondant using AIM, ICQ, MSN (Windows Live), Google Talk and many others else, all this by using that the single software.
It is made possible thanks to the system and standard of free freight forwarding Jabber.
How it is included?
Adium is a Mac OS X application, available in Universal Binaries since version 0.88, that is that it works as well on Mac based on powerPC as those on architecture Intel. Then, Adium allows you, via the adiumxtras.com site to download a foultitude of skins, plug ins, jeu of emoticons, icones, etc.
Here is what it resembles on my office and that cat's window resembles:
Adium on my office:
A window of dialogue of adium:
What misses him you him?
Something in Adium, that's true, is missing he lacks simply audio dialogues and possibility of making the video-conference with Adium Cela am not due to developpeurs the same of Adium, who remains tributary on developers of standard Jabber who to it, do not include video. Far from my mind is idea of criticising the Jabber community, because to standardise and to make inter-operate on fluxes as complex as video and sound on heterogeneous protocols must be extrèmement complex!!!!!
Why to use it?
- This walks well
- It is pretty and perfectly included into your interface Mac (to see the screenshot who follows)
- This allows you to discuss with ALL your contacts that they are on Windows, Linux or Mac and about is their client or the network of freight forwarding which they use
- The offered plug-ins is very various and interesting
- It is free
